SteelMint Daily Trade Sheet - 10 May'23

SteelMint's index for Fe 63% concentrate currently stands at INR 5,200/tonne (t) exw, stable as against the last assessment on 6 May 2023. Some offers were also heard at a higher level of INR 5,300/t exw, although no deal was reported. Iron ore concentrate prices in Jabalpur, central India, remained stable this week amid falling pellet prices and weak market sentiments in Odisha.

Sponge iron prices in India increased by INR 150-450/tonne (t) in key markets. Prices rose on higher offers quoted by suppliers, although only a few deals were reported today as buyers resisted high offers. A total of 13,500 t of transactions were recorded on 10 May as against 19,850 t on 9 May.

SteelMint's India pellet (Fe 63%, 3% Al) export index FOB east coast was recorded at $96/tonne (t) on 10 May, stable w-o-w. No deal was concluded this week.
