South Korea's electro-galvanised steel sheet makers export over 61,000 t in Mar'22

South Korean manufacturers recorded exports of electro-galvanised steel sheets (EGI) at 61,102 tonnes (t) in Mar'22, stable over the previous month, according to the Korea Steel Association.

In the first quarter of this year, EGI exports were recorded at 191,292 t, posting an increase of 8.8% compared to the same period of the previous year.

Imports

On the other hand, in March 2022, EGI imports were recorded at 8,854 t, down 22.5% m-o-m. The same fell 33.2% to 28,079 t in the first quarter of this year.

In March, EGI sales increased from Japan (3,651 t), the Philippines (1,168 t), Saudi Arabia (1,944 t), and Latin America (9,210 t) and South America (1,773 t).

The same declined from South East Asia (8,475 t), Southwest Asia (1,858 t), and Europe (6,982 t).
