South Korea Steel Export Statistics in Q1 CY'20

As per data maintained with SteelMint, the export log of South Korea for the Q1 CY'20 period is as follows.
1: Semi-finished exports spiked to 1,37,159 MT in Q1 CY'20, which was 69,072 MnT in the preceding quarter. Meanwhile, in Mar'20, the same surged by 39% to 50,735 MT over 36,476 MT in Feb'20.
2: The finish-long exports descended by 6% to 6,13,967 MT in Q1 as against 6,55,478 MT in Q4 CY'19. However, the same increased by 6% to 2,14,456 MT in Mar'20 in comparison with 2,01,981 MT a month ago.
3: The finish-flat exports declined marginally by 2% to 60,29,466 MT in Q1 as compared to 61,49,926 MT in the preceding quarter. However, on a monthly premise, the same rose by 3% to 20,34,618 MT in Mar'20, which was 19,70,533 MT in Feb'20.
-- The global flat steel demand has seen the adverse impacts of the COVID-19 outbreak since early Feb'20. Lock-down imposed by various steel importing nations like China, India, Vietnam and Japan to curtail further spread of the contagion resulted to decline in the nation's exports volume in Q1.
4: Ferroalloy exports in Q1 stood at 45,571 MT, recording an ascension by 37% over 33,365 MT in Q4 CY'19. However, the same increased by 13% to 17,778 MT in Mar'20, in comparison with 15,671 MT in Feb'20.
