South Korea Steel Export Statistics in Jan'20

As per data maintained with SteelMint, exports log of South Korea for the month of Jan'20 is as follows:
1. The South Korean semi-finish exports surged to 49,949 MT in Jan'20 in contrast with 34,866 MT in the previous month. Meanwhile, the same ascended by 35% on a yearly premise in Jan'20 as against 37,098 MT in Jan'19.
2. The nation's finish long export volume stood at 1,97,530 MT in Jan'20, descended by 19% as against 2,44,313 MT in Dec'19. Meanwhile, the same increased by 5% Y-o-Y in Jan'20 over 1,88,730 MT in Jan'19.
3. South Korea's finish-flat exports tumbled by 14% to 20,24,315 MT in Jan'20 as compared to 23,45,263 MT a month ago.
The Chinese steel mill shut down operations early ahead of the Lunar New Year scheduled on 24 Jan until 30 Jan, followed by a transit lockdown of Wuhan city amid the Coronavirus outbreak. Thus, on a monthly premise, country-wise South Korean finish-flat steel exports plunged by 32% to China and stood at 3,04,184 MT in Jan'20.
The nation's exports to Japan remained largely stable on a monthly premise in Jan'20 at 2,11,743 MT as compared to 2,11,375 MT in Dec'19.
Along with this, finish flat steel shipments to India tumbled by 14% and stood at1,67,462 MT in Jan'20.
On a yearly premise, South Korean finish flat exports descended by 6% in Jan'20 when compared with 21,43,424 MT in the corresponding month of CY'19.
4. The nation's ferroalloys exports inched down by 1% M-o-M to 12,121 MT in Jan'20, which was 12,240 MT a month ago. However, the same tumbled by 18% on a yearly premise in Jan'20 in comparison with 14,828 MT in Jan'19.
