South Korea's export volumes of stainless steel hot-rolled wide steel strips in Sept'21 stood at 44,719 tonnes (t), down 1.1% m-o-m and 27.9% y-o-y. Meanwhile, the average unit price based on customs was $2,148/t, down 1.8% against Aug'21, according to Korean Steel Association.
Region-wise export share
Exports share to Northeast Asia stood at 28.1%. Exports to South East Asia and Europe accounted for 47.3% and 23% respectively, SteelMint learned from SteelDaily's recent report.
- Aggregate exports to South East Asia stood at 21,130 t out of which 12,119 t were exported to Thailand followed by Vietnam at 6,996 t and Taiwan at 1,998 t.
- Exports to Northeast Asia stood at around 12,571 t of which exports to China stood at 11,156 t and Japan at 2,415 t.
- A total of 10,270 t of stainless steel hot-rolled wide steel strips were exported to Europe, of which 8,211 were exported to Turkey, 861 t to Romania and 1,043 t to Italy.
The export volumes of 300 series hot-rolled stainless steel in Sept'21 stood at 36,143 t while the average export price was $2,276/t.
Export volumes to South East Asia stood at 15,482 t while 12,450 t each were exported to Japan and China and 8,211 t to Europe.
