SteelDaily: The total amount of imported and waiting scrap iron at South Korea's major ports reached 41,700 tonnes (t) this week. Approximately 70% of the total volume was directed to special steel plate companies. This is the highest level recorded this year and indicates significant demand for special steel plates in South Korea's market.
Company-wise arrivals
Hyundai Steel - 10,000 t at Incheon and Dangjin, excluding Pohang.
SeAH Besteel - 5,000 t at Gunsan Port.
Daehan Steel - 2,500 t at Busan Port.
POSCO - 6,000 t at Pohang and another 12,200 t at Gwangyang Port (highest w-o-w).
