South Korea: POSCO's overseas sales of CR galvanised sheets drop, domestic sales up m-o-m in Feb

Global sales of POSCO's cold-rolled (CR) galvanised sheets were sluggish in Feb'22, while domestic sales increased compared to the previous month.

POSCO's total sales of cold-rolled plated sheet materials in Feb'22 were at 1,098,000 tonnes (t), down 9.9% m-o-m while the decrease in overseas sales was more pronounced than in Korea.

In February, POSCO's overseas sales of cold-rolled galvanised steel fell 18% from the previous month to 611,000 t, although sales of all items declined. The decrease in sales of hot-rolled galvanised steel (HGI) and hot-dip galvanised steel (GI) was large.

In addition, domestic sales volume in February increased by 2.9% m-o-m to 487,000 t. Sales of full hard steel sheets (FH) and hot rolled galvanised steel sheets (HGI) decreased slightly, while sales of all other items increased.

Meanwhile, POSCO's cumulative sales (Jan-Feb'22) of cold-rolled galvanised steel amounted to 2.317,000 t, similar to the same period last year.

Among them, domestic sales amounted to 960,000 t, down 8.1% compared to the same period last year, while overseas sales increased 8.3% to 1,357,000 t.
