Manganese ore imports surge m-o-m in Jan'24

• Manganese ore imports into South Korea increased m-o-m in January 2024 to 26,063 tonnes (t) in comparison with a mere 38 t recorded in December 2023.
  
  
• The key exporters were South Africa (16,319 t) in January 2024.
  
  
• However, imports y-o-y in January 2024 came down to 26,063 t against 109,336 t in January 2023.
  
  

Silico manganese imports rise 43% m-o-m in Jan'24

• Silico manganese imports into South Korea rose by 43% m-o-m in January 2024 to 12,614 t against 8,836 t in December 2023.
  
  
• Malaysia (9,240 t) and Vietnam (2,895 t) were the key exporters in January 2024.
  
  
• Similarly, the imports m-o-m increased in January 2024 to 12,614 t in comparison to 6,026 t in January 2023.
  
  

Ferro silicon imports increase m-o-m in Jan'24

• Ferro silicon imports into South Korea increased to 22,253 t in January 2024 in comparison to 19,548 t in December 2023.
  
  
• China (8,071 t) and Russia (6,295 t) were the key exporters in January 2024.
  
  
• The imports y-o-y rose by 54% in January 2024 to 22,253 t, as compared to 14,441 t in January 2023.
  
  

Ferro chrome imports down m-o-m in Jan'24

• South Korea's ferro chrome imports decreased by 56% in January 2024 to 20,489 t against 47,036 t in December 2023.
  
  
• In this month, South Africa (4,138 t) and India (9,169 t) stood out as the leading exporters.
  
  
• However, imports y-o-y were up in January 2024 to 20,489 t as compared to 16,009 t in January 2023.
