SteelDaily: South Korea's major ports reported fresh scrap arrivals of approximately 50,000 tonnes (t) this week. Notably, this is the first time in three weeks that weekly scrap import volumes have touched the 50,000-t mark.

Notably, special steel plate companies accounted for around 61% of the total reported cargo, similar to last week. This was because shaped steel companies reported less cargo, making the proportion for special steel plate companies relatively higher.

Company-wise arrivals

• Hyundai Steel - 12,500 t at Incheon, Dangjin, and Pohang.
  
  
• Dongkuk Steel - 3,000 t at Incheon.
  
  
• Daehan Steel - 2,000 t at Busan Port.
  
  
• YK Steel - 2,000 t at Busan.
  
  

For special steel sheet companies

• SeAH Besteel - 9,000 t at Gunsan Port.
  
  
• POSCO - 16,000 t at Pohang and 5,500 t at Gwangyang (highest w-o-w).
