Manganese ore imports down 28% y-o-y in CY'23

• Manganese ore imports into South Korea decreased by 28% y-o-y in CY'23 to 786,882 t in comparison with 1,085,930 t recorded in CY'22.
  
  
• The key exporters were South Africa (443,362 t) and Australia (322,006 t) in CY'23.
  
  
• Meanwhile, cumulative imports m-o-m in December 2023 came down to 38 t which was 62,091 t in November 2023.
  
  

Silico manganese imports diminish 20% y-o-y in CY'23

• Silico manganese imports in South Korea fell by 20% y-o-y in CY'23 to 84,988 t which was 106,034 t in the CPLY.
  
  
• Malaysia(68,792 t) and Vietnam(8,929 t) were the prominent exporters in CY'23.
  
  
• Similarly the imports m-o-m decreased by 17% in December 2023 to 8,836 t in comparison with 10,655 t in November 2023.
  
  

Ferro silicon imports consistent y-o-y in CY'23

• Ferro silicon imports in South Korea remained steady at 228,578 t in CY'23 in comparison with 225,036 t in CY'22.
  
  
• China (98,266 t) and Russia (75,884 t) were the key exporters in CY'23.
  
  
• The imports m-o-m rose by 20% in December 2023 to 19,548 t, as compared to 16,326 t in November 2023.
  
  

Ferro chrome imports stable y-o-y in CY'23

• South Korea's ferro chrome imports stayed stable with a marginal hike of 4% in CY'23 to 448,611 t which was 429,743 t in CY'22.
  
  
• During this period, South Africa (199,649 t) and India (148,632 t) stood out as the leading exporters.
  
  
• However, imports m-o-m up in December 2023 to 47,036 t as compared to 16,664 t in November 2023.
