South Korea: Ferro Alloy Imports Relatively Unchanged in Aug'18

According to the South Korean customs, the country has witnessed a mere decrease of 0.8% M-o-M in its Ferro Alloy imports.

In Aug'18, South Korea imported a total of 76,889 MT Ferro Alloys against 77,474 MT in Jul'18. However, on yearly basis, there has been an increase of 16% Y-o-Y as South Korea imported 67,036 MT in Aug'17.

In Aug'18, Korea imported 47,134 MT of Ferro Chrome, 23,464 MT Ferro Silicon, and 6,291 MT Silico Manganese. South Korea recorded a mere increase of around 2% M-o-M in its Ferro Chrome imports while a substantial increase of 34% in Ferro Silicon imports. On the other hand, Silico Manganese imports by South Korea witnessed a substantial fall of 54% M-o-M.

South Africa remains the largest exporter to South Korea, recording export sales volume at 20,093 MT in Aug'18, witnessing an increase of 33% M-o-M. China surpassed India to become the second largest exporter to South Korea at 19,202 MT witnessing an increase of 55% M-o-M. India was the third largest exporter with an export volume of 17,921 MT in Aug'18.
