The South Asian scrap market exhibited mixed sentiments today. Bangladesh and Pakistan buyers concluded a few containerised scrap deals. But, India's buyers followed the domestic trend and awaited clear market directions.
- A total of 2,000 t HMS (80:20) and 1,000 t of shredded in containers were sold at $514/t and $555/t, CFR Chittagong. SteelMint's assessment for UK-origin shredded scrap stands at $550/t CFR Bangladesh, unchanged d-o-d.
- A volume of 2,000 premium quality shredded scrap traded at $525/t, CFR Qasim. As per SteelMint's assessment, Europe-origin shredded scrap stands at $520/t CFR Qasim, stable d-o-d.
- As per SteelMint's assessment, Europe-origin shredded scrap stands at $525-530/t CFR Nhava Sheva, down $10-15/t d-o-d.
