South Africa: Pig Iron Exports Rise in August 2017

South Africa, one of the major exporter for pig iron has registered a growth in exports about 30,000 MT (150%) M-o-M in August'17.
According to the South Africa customs, the nation has exported about 50,000 MT pig iron during August'17 against 20,000 MT in July'17.
Coming to total exports in CY 2017 (Jan-Aug) it has been registered at 300,000 MT, surge by 50% against 200,000 MT in the same period during 2016.
Further on yearly calculation, the country exported around 310,000 MT in CY 2016 & at 430,000 MT in CY 2015.
Country wise:
During August 2017, the largest importer of South African originated pig iron was United States (20,000 MT), while Netherlands, Italy & South Korea imports around 10,000 MT each respectively.
Similarly, in the total pig iron exports during the CY 2017 (Jan-Aug), the major buyers of South African Pig iron was - United States (28.65%), Netherlands (16.25%), Italy (11.9%) & South Korea (5.02%).
