South Africa Iron Ore Exports Rise 9.4% Y-o-Y in Jan-Oct'19

--South Africa - world's 3rd largest iron ore exporter after Australia and Brazil recorded its iron ore exports 21.97 MnT YTD in 10M CY'19. According to the trade data released by South African Customs. The exports witnessed rise of 9.4% on yearly basis as against 20.08 MnT in 10M CY'18.
--China continues to be the largest iron ore importer from South Africa, at 14.45 MnT, contributing 4.5% of South African iron ore (fines/lumps export ) in 10M CY'19, followed by Mozambique at 3.03 MnT, Netherland at 1.17 MnT, South Korea at 0.88 MnT, Slovenia at 0.81 MnT & Japan at 0.55 MnT.
--Mauritius &Denmark accounted an import value from South Africa of 0.22 MnT & 0.13 MnT respectively.
--Indian imports of South African iron ore (fines/lumps) decreased sharply by 78.5% Y-o-Y to 0.43 MnT in 10M CY'19 as against 1.99 MnT in preceding year. Indian mills are preferring domestic iron ore & pellets over imported one amid cost effectiveness & easy availability.
