South Africa: Iron Ore Export Shipments Fall 14% in Feb'20

As per bulk vessel line up data maintained with SteelMint, South African iron ore export shipments in Feb'20 witnessed 14% drop to 5.47 MnT, against 6.33 MnT in Jan' 20.
South African export shipments to China fell 28% in Feb'20
South Africa's total iron ore export to China for the month of Feb'20 recorded at 3.34 MnT as compared to 4.64 MnT in Jan'20. Chinese imports have dropped for the month due to coronavirus outbreak caused after the Lunar New Year holidays towards Jan '20 end.
Exports to Korea recorded at 0.37 MnT, up sharply by 81% against 0.20 MnT in Jan '20. Exports to Netherland stood at 0.28 MnT followed by Slovenia at 0.15 MnT.
South African export shipments to India continue to remain nil for the month
The total iron ore exports to India marked nil for the second consecutive month in Feb'20. The exports were recorded at 0.15 MnT in Dec'19.
