South Africa: Ferro Alloy Exports Up by 7% M-o-M in Nov'17

According to the South African customs, the country has witnessed an increase of 7% M-o-M in its Ferro Alloy exports.
In Nov'17, South Africa exported a total of 2.95 MnT Ferro Alloys, Manganese Ore and Chrome Ore against 2.76 MnT in Oct'17. Moreover, on yearly basis, there has been a substantial increase of 14% Y-o-Y in its export volume which stood at 2.58 MnT in Nov'16.
In Nov'17 Chrome Ore has surpassed Manganese Ore to become the commodity that occupied the major volume of South African exports at 1.30 MnT, registering a substantial increase of 15% M-o-M. Moreover, Ferro Chrome exports witnessed a significant increase of 24% M-o-M in Nov'17. While, Manganese Ore exports stood at 1.28 MnT in Nov'17, witnessing a marginal fall of 4% M-o-M against Oct'17. While Silico Manganese export by South Africa remained almost negligible in Nov'17.

China remains the largest importer of South African Ferro Alloys and Ores at 1.7 MnT in Nov'17, recording an increase of 21% against 1.36 MnT in Oct'17. In Nov'17, Mozambique was the second largest importer of South African Ferroalloys (including Manganese Ore and Chrome Ore) at 0.39 MnT while India, being the third largest importer, imported 0.14 MnT.
