SAIL's Bokaro CRC Mill Undergoing Maintenece Shutdown - Sources

SteelMint learned from its market sources that SAIL's Bokaro Steel Limited is undergoing maintenance shut down at its cold rolling mill-3 from beginning of this month.
As per sources the shutdown will continue till the end of this month. According to them, estimated production loss is expected to be around 30,000 MT CRC in the month of January. However market participants remained quite optimistic that the issue will be resolved by the end of this month or by the start of February.
SAIL-Bokaro steel plant is designed to produce flat products like Hot Rolled Coils, Hot Rolled Plates, Hot Rolled Sheets, Cold Rolled Coils, Cold Rolled Sheets, Tin Mill Black Plates (TMBP) and Galvanized Plain and Corrugated (GP/GC) Sheets.
According to SAIL production performance FY17 report, SAIL -Bokaro is mainly involved in flat steel production. In FY17, SAIL's Bokaro capacity was 3.4 MnT hot metal, 3.2 MnT for crude steel and 3.4 MnT saleable steel.
After expansion, SAIL Bokaro is likely to raise its hot metal capacity to 5.8 MnT and crude steel production to 4.6 MnT.
