Russia's Billet Export Decline by 3% in Feb'18

Billet exports from the top exporter - Russia, registered a slight downfall of about 2.60% M-o-M in Feb'18, as per custom data maintained by SteelMint stats.

As per SteelMint's statistics report, the nation has exported around 1,164,543 MT billet in the month of Feb'18 against 1,195,670 MT in Jan'18. Prior to this, on M-o-M in Jan'18 it decreased about 13.04% against 1,377,291 MnT in Dec'17. On yearly premises, billet exports decline by 8.13% in Feb'18 against 1,267,660 MT in Feb'17.

Further, in the first two months of CY18 (Jan & Feb), Billet exports declined marginally by 3.40% to 2,360,213 MT against 2,443,213 MT in same preceding CY17.

On yearly calculations, the Billet export was around 14,378,059 MT in CY 2017 (Jan-Dec) & in CY 2016 at 15,162,886 MT.

Unload Countries: Taiwan has imported approximately 21.23% (247,261 MT) billet from Russia in Feb'18. Inline, Mexico (19.02%), Belgium (14.15%) and Turkey (9.83%) attributed to the major exports by Russia with 221,510 MT, 164,852 MT and 114,543 MnT respectively.

In the calendar year of 2018 (Jan-Feb), Taiwan remained the prime spot for Russian exports. Out of 2,360,213 MT exported billet, Taiwan imported around 19.74% of the quantity which stood at 465,921 MT, followed by Mexico remained second largest importer of Russian billet and imported around 433,614 MT which is 18.37% to total billet exports.

In context to export prices, the export offers of 150*150 IS 2830 grade billet are currently at USD 505-510/MT FoB India, 125*125 3SP at USD 510-520/MT FoB Ukraine & 125*125 are at USD 530-340/MT CNF Turkey.
