Russia's organizations aim for digitalisation of scrap industry

Russia's National Recycling Association Ruslom.com, a self-regulatory organisation of scrap companies, together with a rating agency and a marketplace, intends to create a unified digital environment in the scrap industry. The information was provided by the self-regulatory organisation's press service.

On August 29, a forum and conference on the digitalisation of the scrap industry and the transition to cashless payments was held in Moscow. The events began with a session devoted to state regulation of the circular economy and the digitalisation of scrap collectors.

During the session, experts discussed the transition to a circular economy, the relevance of the ESG agenda for the steel industry and announced plans to create a unified digital environment in the scrap industry.

The initiative belongs to Ruslom.com, the rating agency Rusmet, and the recycling marketplace Vtorion, which is an electronic platform connecting scrap suppliers and buyers across Russia.

The parties announced the start of a strategic partnership. Their cooperation is aimed at digitalisation of scrap collection processes and transition to cashless payments between scrap collectors and recyclers.
