Russia Billet Exports Hit 4 Years High in CY18

Russia- world's 6th largest steel producer has recorded highest ever Billet exports in CY18 since 2014, as per the custom data maintained by SteelMint.
On yearly comparison, country's Billet exports recorded at 16 MnT during Jan-Dec'18 increase by 11% as compared to previous year CY'17 at about 14.39 MnT.
Based on monthly comparison, country's Billet exports recorded at 1.59 MnT in Dec'18 rise by 27% as against Nov'17. Also, the exports increased by 15% in the same month as against Dec'17 at 1.38 MnT.
Taiwan remains the largest importer of Russian Billet during Jan-Dec'18 with a contribution of around 19.76% (14.57 MnT), followed by Turkey 17.27% (12.73 MnT), Mexico 14.46% (10.66 MnT) & Belgium 11.00% (8.10 MnT).

-- According to World Steel Association (WSA), Russia's crude steel production recorded at 71.68 MnT during Jan-Dec'18 as against 71.49 MnT during same period previous year.
-- On a cumulative basis, Russia's total finish long steel exports during Jan-Dec'18 stood at 3.82 MnT, moved up by 13% which was about 3.37 MnT in Jan-Dec'17.
-- On yearly basis, Billet export offers from CIS nations increased by USD 50/MT in CY18 to USD 490/MT, FoB Black Sea.
