POSCO C&C Completes Construction of Color Steel Plate Plant in Pohang, South Korea

According to the reports, POSCO's affiliate, POSCO Coated & Colour Co. (POSCO C&C) has completed the construction of a plate plant in Pohang city of North Gyeongsang province of South Korea. The plant will manufacture color-coated plates used in the construction industry and in the production of home appliances.
With this new plant, POSCO C&C can now produce premium-quality ultraviolet curing plates that are up to 1,600 millimeters wide and 3 mm thick. The company has anticipated that the annual production at the new plant will reach 60,000 tonnes, boosting the company's overall production of steel plates to 1 MnT.
To be more environmentally friendly, the manufacturing facility will use paint that does not emit volatile organic compounds. Each plate will be coated four times and undergo printing in six stages to produce a clear and glossy finish.
In February 2018, POSCO C&C which is engaged in the manufacturing and sale of coated steel sheets has announced its plans to expand the plants' production facilities for the colour steel sheets.
The company had decided to establish invest 39 billion won (USD 35 million) in establishing a Pohang color steel continuous coating facility (No.4 CCL). It is to increase the number of color steel sheet production lines from the current three to four.
POSCO C&C is supplied with cold rolled coils from POSCO and manufactures galvanized steel sheets, aluminium coated steel sheet and color steel sheets. Color steel sheets are generally used to produce panels for buildings and home appliances, while coated steel sheets are used in automotive mufflers and interior and exterior materials for buildings.
