Odisha Iron Ore Production Increase 8% Y-o-Y in May'18

 

  • RP Sao has produced 0.13 MnT in May'18 after a gap of almost three years

  • OMC marked a sharp rise of 34% to 0.95 MnT in May'18 as against 0.71 MnT in Apr'18

Odisha - India's largest iron ore producing state has witnessed an increase of 8% Y-o-Y in May'18 as against May'17 production at 8.81 MnT.

However, the provisional data of Odisha govt. maintained by SteelMint, state's production recorded a minor increase of 3% M-o-M to 9.55 MnT in May'18, as against 9.28 MnT in Apr'18. The figures include material type - fines, lump and concentrate.

Rungta Mines - India's largest private merchant miner produced 2.66 MnT iron ore in May'18, in line with Apr'18 production at 2.64 MnT.

Iron ore production of state-owned miner, OMC marked a sharp rise of 34% to 0.95 MnT for the month as against 0.71 MnT in Apr'18. OMC fetch a good response in the auction at the beginning of June'18 .Company's bid increased upto INR 700/MT.

Tata has produce at 1.2MnT, up 22% M-o-M as against 0.98MnT in Apr'18.
Essel mining production recorded an increase of 11% M-o-M in May'18 to 0.83 MnT as against 0.75 MnT in Apr'18. Post resumption of operations in Feb'18, Essel mining has depicted a continuous increase in production on monthly basis.

SAIL recorded an increase in iron ore production for the month of May'18 at 0.60 MnT, up 33% M-o-M as against 0.45 MnT a month before. SAIL's Barsua iron ore mine, with capacity of 3.5 MnT per annum has resumed operations on 20th May after a gap of four years, is expected to bring increase in production.

RP Sao has resumed operations after a gap of around 3 years, and registered production at 0.13 MnT in May'18.

Serajuddin, KJS Ahluwalia, Indrani Patnaik and A.M.T.C have depicted decline in production for the month of May'18. Serajuddin production stood at 0.56 MnT (down 8% M-o-M), KJS Ahluwalia at 0.56 MnT (down 39% M-o-M), Indrani Patnaik at 0.4 MnT (down marginally) and A.M.T.C at 0.17 MnT (down 56% on monthly basis).
