Odisha: Iron Ore Dispatches Down 11% in Jan'20

Odisha- India's largest iron ore producing state recorded total iron ore dispatches at 8.33 MnT in Jan'20, down 11% on monthly basis as against 9.32 MnT in Dec'19. The figures exclude movement for export and dispatches of miners- SAIL & Tata Steel.
Rungta Mines, India's largest private merchant miner, recorded iron ore dispatches at 2.37 MnT in Jan'20, down 14% as against 2.75 MnT a month ago.
Serajuddin mine recorded iron ore dispatches at 1.26 MnT in Jan'20, up 6% as against 1.19 MnT in Dec'19. The miner has increased iron ore lump offers on 03 Jan'20 for 5-18 mm (Fe 63%) by INR 600/MT. Serajuddin mine produces around 10 MnT iron ore annually and has an EC limit of 15.15 MnT p.a. In the ongoing Odisha block auction, the miner retained its Balda block at a premium of 118.05%.
OMC, state-owned miner recorded 19% increase in dispatches to 1.21 MnT for Jan'20 as against 1.01 MnT in Dec'19.
Essel Mining, KJS Ahluwalia and RP Sao depicted drop in monthly dispatches at 0.50 MnT, 0.44 MnT and 0.41 MnT respectively.

In line with MMDR (Amendment) Act 2015, Odisha govt. put up 20 merchant iron ore mines for auction which were due to expire in Mar'2020. So far,11 iron ore and mangnese block have auctioned successfully. Rests are lined up for auction process in upcoming days.
