NMDC Puts 36,700 MT Pellet for Auction from Karnataka Plant

Amid weak response from last two pellet auctions, NMDC has put forward another auction of unsold lots.

NMDC, the central government-owned entity is to conduct an auction for 36,700 MT iron ore pellets from its Donimalai pellet plant at Bellary in Karnataka on 3rd Nov'17 between 15:00 to 17:00 hrs IST. Pellets of grade Fe 64(+/-0.5%) will be offered in the e-auction.

In the current auction, pellet offered comprises of size ranging from 6-16 mm with silica content 4.5% max, alumina content - 3% max, sulphur - 0.021% max , Phosphorous 0.055% max and tumbler index of 93% min.

This is third time when company has offered pellets via auction during Oct'17. It seems that the company has put forward auction for unsold quantity left in previous two auctions.

On 13 Oct'17, company conducted an auction for 40,000 MT iron ore pellets from its Donimalai plant in Karnataka. As per the sources, around 800-1000 MT pellets were sold at base price INR 5,461/MT.

After this, on 23 Oct'17 NMDC put forward the balance quantity (38,700 MT) under auction. As per sources the e-auction received weak response with only 2,000 MT getting sold at base price of INR 5,461/MT
