Nepal Flat Steel Imports Fall 19% in Q1 CY19

Nepal flat steel imports slashed by 19% Q-o-Q in Q1 CY'19- Nepal's flat steel imports plunged by 19% Q-o-Q to 0.13 MnT in Q1 CY'19 which was 0.16 MnT in Q4 CY'18.

Higher inventory levels and dull demand reported fall in nation's flat steel imports in Q1 CY'19.

Whereas on monthly premise nation's imports drop by 20% from 0.05 MnT in Feb'19 to 0.04 MnT in Mar'19.

Meanwhile on yearly basis, Nepal's flat steel imports reported fall of 33% in Mar'19 as compared to 0.06 MnT in Mar'18.

Country-wise Nepal flat steel imports in Q1 CY'19- Nation's flat steel imports from India dropped by 17% to 0.10 MnT in Q1 CY'19 in comparison with 0.12 MnT in the previous quarter.

Whereas imports from China halved to 0.01 MnT in the first quarter with respect to 0.02 MnT in the previous quarter. Nepal also imported flat steel from Taiwan accounting for 0.01 MnT in Q1 CY'19.

Nepal Billet imports down by 10% in Q1 CY'19- Nation's billet imports stood at 0.27 MnT in Q1 CY'19, registered a fall by 10% from 0.3 MnT in the previous quarter.

On monthly premise the nation imported 0.07 MnT of billet in Mar'19, declined by 13% as compared to 0.08 MnT in Feb'19.

Whereas on yearly basis nation's billet imports plunged by 30% in Mar'19 in comparison to 0.1 MnT in Mar'18.

Country-wise Nepal billet imports in Q1 CY'19- Nepal imported 0.27 MnT of billets from India in Q1 CY'19, registered 10% decrease against 0.3 MnT in Q4 CY'18.

Nepal sponge iron imports remains stable in Q1 CY'19- Nation's sponge iron imports in Q1 CY'19 stood at 0.03 MnT, remained unchanged over previous quarter.

While the nation's sponge iron imports were stable on both monthly and yearly premise at 0.01 MnT in Mar'19.

Country-wise Nepal sponge iron imports in Q1 CY'19- Nepal has imported 0.03 MnT of sponge iron from India in Q1 CY'19, unchanged against the previous quarter.

Nepal finish long imports stable in Q1 CY'19- Country's finish long steel imports remain unchanged for both the quarters at 0.09 MnT.

Meanwhile nation's finish long imports remain stable since past two months and stood at 0.03 MnT in Mar'19 and Feb'19.

On individual product basis, Nepal's imports of wire rod registered an increase by 17% in Q1 CY'19 to 0.07 MnT which was 0.06 MnT in the previous quarter.

However imports of structrue for Q1 CY'19 stood at 0.02 MnT, plunged by 33% against 0.03 MnT in the preceding quarter.

Country-wise Nepal finish long imports in Q1 CY'19- Nepal majorly imports finish long products from India and accounted for 0.09 MnT, stable against preceding quarter.
