KIOCL Receives Approval for Setting up of 0.2 MTPA Ductile Iron Spun Pipe

Kudremukh Iron Ore Company Ltd (KIOCL) has received clearance for setting up of Ductile Iron Spun Pipe (DISP) of 0.2 MTPA in Mangalore.

The Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change, Govt. of India, with the recommendations of Expert Appraisal Committee (EAC), has accorded Environmental Clearance (EC), under the provisions of Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) Notification 2006, for setting up of Non-recovery coke oven plant (0.18 MTPA) with cogen captive power plant (10MW) and ductile iron spun pipe (DISP) (0.2 MTPA) within the existing premises of blast furnace unit at Mangalore.

The clearance is subject to specific conditions stated in an approval letter and sector specific general conditions as per the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change's Office Memorandum.

KIOCL recorded third quarter FY20 sales at 0.648 MnT against the set target of 0.60 MnT. However, the pellet production was recorded at 0.59 MnT, drop as against the set guidance of 0.62 MnT. The miner recorded highest pellet export share at 82%.
