JSW Steel imported 0.91 MnT of iron ore in Nov'18, up significantly by 75% as against 0.52 MnT in Oct'18.
JSW Steel imported 0.57 MnT iron ore from Australia, up three folds against 0.19 MnT in Oct'18. The company's import from Brazil increased to 0.34 MnT, stable on monthly basis. Perhaps NMDC Donimalai temporarily iron ore mine production suspension led the miner go for imports. According to sources report, iron ore operations are still on hold at NMDC's Donimalai mine
JSW Steel - India's largest steel maker recorded iron ore sourcing at 2.77 MnT in Nov'18. The total sourcing witnessed rise of 82% M-o-M as against 1.52 MnT in Oct'18.
JSW sourcing from Odisha marginally down in Nov'18
The steelmaker procured 0.16 MnT iron ore from Odisha based miners in Nov'18, down by 4% as against 0.17 MnT in Oct'18.
Odisha based miners had increased prices consecutively in Aug'18 and in Sep'18 but later in Oct'18, the merchant miners were heard offering discounts over increased offers to stimulate buying interest. However, towards the end of Nov'18 Odisha based miners reduced prices.
Sourcing from NMDC (C.G.) up 43% in Nov'18
JSW Steel (Dolvi) sourcing from NMDC increased to 43 rakes (0.17 MnT) in Nov'18, up 43% as against 30 rakes (0.12 MnT) a month before.
JSW purchases from Karnataka up more than two folds in Nov'18
JSW Steel's iron ore purchases from Karnataka e-auctions stood at 1.54 MnT in Nov'18, up more than two folds M-o-M compared to 0.72 MnT in Oct'18.
Out of 1.54 MnT iron ore sourced by JSW, NMDC supplied 0.63 MnT and contributed around 41% of total JSW sourcing from Karnataka e-auction.
JSW Steel's iron ore sourcing from private mines have increased by almost four times to 0.91 MnT in Nov'18 as against 0.25 MnT in Oct'18.
