Japan: Tokyo Steel Cuts Scrap Purchase Price by USD 5

Japan's leading EAF mini-mill, Tokyo Steel has lowered its scrap purchase price by JPY 500/MT (USD 5) at two of its plants, while keeping its purchase price unchanged at remaining three plants for now, as per the latest price circular.
The company has cut its bids today, after keeping its price unchanged for around a week before this. The new prices for all grades shall be effective from tomorrow (11th April'20).
After the said price cut, the company will pay JPY 19,500 /MT (USD 180) for H2 scrap delivered at the Tahara plant in the central region, while for Utsunomiya works located in the Kanto region the price set at JPY 18,500/MT (USD 171).
For H2 delivered to Okayama Plant remained at JPY 18,500 /MT (USD 171), whereas, Kyushu works in the western region & Takamatsu Steel Center the price continued at JPY 17,500/MT (USD 161).
Meanwhile, South Korean steel makers lowered their bids for Japanese H2 scrap below JPY 20000/MT Fob basis, earlier this week.
