Japan: Crude Steel Output Rises 2% in Apr'17

Japan is world's 2nd largest steel producing country after China with crude steel output of 104.77 MnT in CY16.
According to preliminary customs data, Japan's crude steel output rose by 2%, Y-o-Y basis, to 8.7 MnT in Apr'17 compared to 8.5 MnT in Apr'16.
On monthly basis country's crude steel production reported the marginal decline of 1.1% in Apr'17 against last month.In Mar'17 the crude steel output was assessed at 8.8 MnT.
However, During Jan to Apr'17 Japan's crude steel output stands at 34.8 MnT, moved up by 2% against 34.2 MnT in corresponding time frame of previous year.
Japan Commodity-wise Flat Products Output in Apr'17-Japan's HRC production witnessd downfall of 8% on monthly basis to 3.5 MnT in Apr'17 against 3.8 MnT in Mar'17.Whereas its CRC output fell 12% to 1.5 MnT in Apr'17 against 1.7 MnT in previous month.
Meanwhile plates output remained stable since last four months and stood at 0.7 MnT.
