Iran's Steel Exports Witnessed 4% Y-o-Y Drop, During Mar'19-Aug'19

Iran's major steelmakers exported a total of 2.9 MnT during the five months to register a Y-o-Y decline of 4%. With a total of 887,543 MT during the first five months of the current fiscal year (Mar '21-Aug' 22) and 174,772 MT in the fifth month (Jul '23-Aug '22), Khouzestan Steel Company has registered itself as the country's biggest steel exporter during the period under review.

However, according to Iranian Mines and Mining Industries Development and Renovation Organization the mill experienced a year-on-year decline of 20% in exports during the five months, but saw a growth of 15% in the fifth month.

Mobarakeh Steel Company, stood the second biggest exporter as it shipped out 593,074 MT of products during the five months under review, down 1% compared with last year's corresponding period. Although, during the fifth month of the current fiscal year, the company has registered a Y-o-Y decline of 36% with 91,265 MT of exports.

Esfahan Steel Company (ESCO) booked the third position as it exported 464,340 MT during the five months, unchanged compared with last year's corresponding period. During the fifth month the company exported 103,830 MT to register a Y-o-Y increase of 11%.

Most of the other producers registered downturns during the five-month period. Below table indicates the export performance of the leading steel producers of the Iran during (Mar '21-Aug' 22).
