Iran's Slab Export Rises Remarkably by 130% in Current Persian Year

Iran one of the largest exporter of semi-finished steel in world has exported around 2.41 MnT of Slab during the first ten months of current Persian year (21 Mar-20 Jan'18), registered a growth of 130% Y-o-Y against 1.05 MnT in last Persian year. Major exporters of slab during the period were Khouzastan Steel Company which exported around 580,714 MT and HOSCO with total export of 945,502 MT in current Persian year.
Billet and bloom export went up by around 65% Y-o-Y. The nation exported 2.95 MnT billet and bloom in current Persian year against 1.80 MnT exported in last Persian year. Major exporters of billet and bloom were KSC which exported around 675,919 MT billets and 967,262 MT blooms. South Kaveh steel exported around 618,000 MT billet in current Persian year.
DRI export increased remarkably by around 336% Y-o-Y, the nation exported around 567,000 MT DRI in current Persian year against 130,000 MT exported in last Persian year.
Flat product export decreased significantly in current Persian year. HRC exports were down by 51% Y-o-Y in current Persian year. The nation exported around 490,000 MT in current Persian year against 1,003,000 MT exported in last Persian year. On parallel lines, the nation exported 10,000 MT CRC in current Persian year, registered a downfall of 93% Y-o-Y.
Export of Rebar witnessed a growth of 28% in 10 months of current Persian year. The nation exported 212,000 MT of rebar in current Persian year against 165,000 MT exported in previous year. Export of wire rod increased by around 350% in current Persian year. The nation exported 216,000 MT in current Persian year against 48,000 MT. The nation exported 141,000 MT of beam in current Persian year, registered a downfall of 14% Y-o-Y.
ESCO was the major long steel exporter during the current Persian year. Rebar export by the company was noted to be around 116,998 MT, beam and coil exported during the period was 86,033 MT and 53,599 MT respectively. Khorasan Steel Company exported 108,087 MT of rebar during the period.
Iran's Khouzestan Steel Company Concludes 30,000 MT Billet Export Tender
Khouzestan Steel Company, one of the largest steel exporter of MENA had invited bid for sale of 30,000 MT steel billet in Iran for mid/end Apr'18 shipment. The due date for bid submission was 19 Feb'18 till 18:00 hrs Iranian Standard Time via email.
As per market and company sources, export tender for billet was concluded at around USD 515-520/MT FOB Iran. Destination for billet export tender is Gulf region. Iranian suppliers continued to increase their offers as 10 days ago billet export offers were noted to be around USD 500-505/MT.
