Iran's MSC Plans to Set Up 2nd Hot Rolling Mill

Mobarakeh Steel Company (MSC) - Iran's largest steel producing company plans to install a second HR Mill with a production capacity of 4.5 MnT pa hot rolled coil.
MSC Managing Director Hamid Reza Azimian said on the sidelines of the Iranian Steel and Iron Ore Market Conference and Expo "MSC's Hot Rolling Mill No. 2 will have a production capacity of 4.5 MnT of hot-rolled coil per year. We have reached an agreement with a foreign company.
As per the agreement with the foreign contractor, the project will take around 900 days to complete before it comes on stream.
MSC's steel production capacity stands at 10.2 MnT pa, while its actual production is 8.7 MnT annually. The mill's steel sheet production stands at 7.3 MnT pa.
Mobarakeh Steel Company accounts for 50% of Iran's steel production. The company's finished steel and semis production were recorded at 6.19 MnT and 7.06 MnT respectively in first nine months of current Iranian year, as per IMIDRO. The company's finished steel production posted a Y-o-Y growth of 2%.
Located in southwestern Isfahan, the company is the biggest steel producer in Iran, the Middle East and North Africa region.
