Iran's Khouzestan Steel Company Concludes 30,000 MT Billet Export Tender

Khouzestan Steel Company, one of the largest steel exporter of MENA had invited bid for sale of 30,000 MT steel billet in Iran for mid/end Apr'18 shipment. The due date for bid submission was 19 Feb'18 till 18:00 hrs Iranian Standard Time via email.

As per market and company sources, export tender for billet was concluded at around USD 515-520/MT FOB Iran. Destination for billet export tender is Gulf region. Iranian suppliers continued to increase their offers as 10 days ago billet export offers were noted to be around USD 500-505/MT.

Export prices were up against the last tender of KSC which was floated last month and sold at around USD 510-515/MT FOB Iran. Destination for billet export tender was Gulf region.

Globally, billet price is on rise CIS offers are hovering at around USD 515-520/MT FOB Black Sea. Also, Iran is currently witnessing currency depreciation which is bringing better realization in export. Increasing currency exchange rates are making export viable, which is why export in the country is increasing. It is also believed that the freight charge is cheaper to gulf nation which is also increasing exports in Iran.

Iran's ESCO Concludes 70,000 MT Billet Export Deal

Esfahan Steel (ESCO), one of the largest producer and exporter of billet and finished long steel of Iran has concluded an export deal of 70,000 MT billet last week at USD 499/MT for May'18 shipment. The destination of shipment is GCC.

ESCO, recently in late Jan'18 concluded an export deal of 10,000 MT billet for around USD 503-508/MT to Oman and earlier in Jan'18, ESCO had canceled tender for export of 30,000 MT billet for second half of Mar'18 delivery. As per market sources " ESCO had cancelled its tender owing to low bids, company was expecting around USD 500-505/MT FOB Iran whereas, the highest bid offered was USD 495/MT FOB Iran".
