Iran: Steel exports of major mills fall by 61% y-o-y

The steel exports of Iranian major steel producers, during the first two months of the current Iranian year (20 Mar'20- 20 May'20) stood at 404,644 t, registering a y-o-y decline of 61%. While during May'20 the exports of these majors' were recorded at 183,052 t, down 70% y-o-y. The decline in exports was primarily due to trades in the domestic market and the imposition of a limit on exports.
With 144,663 t of exports, Khouzestan Steel Company stood Iran's largest steel exporter. However, the mill has experienced a y-o-y decline of 64%, during the period under consideration.
