India's Haldia Port Resumes Operations Partly

Haldia port has resumed operations partly after a few days of shutdown due to coronavirus. The port had announced suspension of operations after a worker tested positive for coronavirus.

Berthing of vessels and cargo operations at many berths have started except at berth no : 13 as the berth incharge was found positive for COVID-19, SteelMint learned from sources.

Presently, discharge operations for all dry bulks is taking place for only 12 hrs instead of 24 hrs.

Bulk vessels are allowed to operate at following berths:

2 - HMC berth working

4 - conveyor belt for loading Thermal coal

4A, 4B - working

8 - HMC berth - working

--Tanker vessels at Haldia Oil jetty - HOJ 1, HOJ 2 & HOJ 3 are working normally

--Inside port tanker berths - 3, 6 & 7 is operational.

--Container berth 10 & 11 working normally

Kolkata port trust is the authority of this port.

India exported around 19 MnT iron ore in CY19, out of which 2 MnT was from Haldia port.
