1. SteelMint: Pellet deals for around 10,000 MT reported to Raipur market at INR 5,800/MT (Ex-plant); normalizing for freight to Raipur at INR 5,950/MT (DAP Raipur).
2. SteelMint: Pellets prices in Bellary (Karnataka) stable on high trade volumes. One of the major pellet maker from Bellary heard to have booked 25,000 MT pellets in the last few days at around Rs 6,350/MT, EXW. Few deals of small size also reported at Rs 6,200-6,250/MT EXW.
3. Gujarat based DRI plants actively book pellets from Bellary and Raipur at a landed cost of Rs 7,800-7,900/MT (delivered Kandla).Gujarat based DRI plants need about 200,000 MT lumps/pellets per month. Imports of lumps remain expensive. Jindal Saw (who is the major supplier of pellets in Gujarat ) is booked for exports.
4. Jamshedpur based pellet maker reported to have booked around 10,000-11,000 MT pellet at Rs 5,200-5,300/MT.
5. No export bookings reported this week. Standard grade pellet price assessment stands at USD 104-106/MT CFR China, equivalent to USD 91-93/MT FoB India.
