India's Crude Steel Output Crosses 100 MnT Mark in CY17 - Govt Data

According to provisional data released by Joint Plant Committee (Govt. of India) India has set a new record for the first time by registering crude steel output at 101.2 MnT registering a growth of 5.87% as compared to CY16.

On monthly premise, nation's crude steel output observed the hike of 2.6% to 8.652 MnT in Dec'17 which was at 8.429 MnT in Nov'17 ,however on yearly basis the same was up by 3.2% in Dec'16.

Also,in tenure of (Apr-Dec'17) nation's crude steel production assessed at 75.498 MnT up by 4.6% against similar time span of preceding year

Finished Steel Exports surged by 53% in FY18 (Apr-Dec'17)-India's finished steel exports registered at 7.606 MnT in Apr-Dec'17 up by 53% as compared to corresponding time frame of preceding year

Also,on yearly basis basis nation's finished steel exports increased sharply by 29% to 0.96 MnT in Dec '17 against Dec'16.

However on monthly basis country's finished steel exports decline by 5% M-o-M in Dec'17 against 1.01 MnT in Nov'17.

Finished steel imports to India up 11% Y-o-Y basis Apr-Dec'17-In the month of Dec'17 India imported 0.56 MnT, fallen by 26.4% on yearly basis over Dec'16.

Also,on monthly basis the same reported the drop of 9% in Dec'17 over 0.61 MnT in Nov'17.

However during ( Apr- Dec) FY18 Indian finish steel import volumes reported increase of 11% to 6.096 MnT against similar time frame previous year.

India's consumption of finished steel rises 5.2% Apr-Dec'17-Nation witnessed improvement in finished steel consumption by 11%,M-o-M basis and was recorded at 7.621 MnT in Dec'17 against 6.870 MnT in Nov'17.However on yearly basis finished steel consumption increased by 6.2% in Dec'17 against Dec'16.

So far in FY18 (Apr-Dec) country's finished steel consumption rose by 5.2% to 64.867 MnT against similar time frame of previous year.
