India's 2nd Iron Ore Import Vessel from Iran in FY19

According to customs data maintained with SteelMint, India is to import 52,650 MT iron ore concentrate from Iran at Mangalore port. The vessel named 'Oura' is expected to arrive at port today, i.e. on 08 Oct'18.

It is for the second time in this fiscal that, India observed iron ore imports from Iran.
Last month, an import of 52,750 MT from Iran was seen at Mangalore port. The vessel named "Parshad" unloaded iron ore from Bandar Abbas to India's Mangalore port in Sept'18.

In FY'18, India's iron ore import from Iran recorded at 0.05 MnT.

According to the customs data maintained with SteelMint Indian iron ore imports in Q2 FY'19 recorded at 4.04 MnT. On the quarterly basis, imports increased by 16% against 3.48 MnT in Q1 FY'19. However, on monthly basis, imports fell by 20% to 1.11 MnT in Sept'18 as against 1.38 MnT in Aug'18.
