Indian refineries lift pet coke prices for Dec'24

Most Indian refineries have hiked pet coke prices for December 2024 sales. Details are given below.
RIL
Reliance Industries Limited (RIL) raised its pet coke prices by INR 686/tonne (t) m-o-m to INR 12,323/t ex-Jamnagar, effective 1 December. Notably, RIL releases limited quantities in the market, as most of its production is consumed by its gasification unit.
CPCL
Chennai Petroleum Corporation Limited (CPCL) increased its pet coke prices by INR 560/t m-o-m to INR 12,600/t ex-Chennai from the previous month's INR 12,040/t. Notably, CPCL primarily supplies material to Tamil Nadu and Andhra Pradesh, with an average monthly dispatch of 40,000-45,000 t. CPCL does not have a rake loading facility, making all dispatches road-based.
MRPL
Mangalore Refinery and Petrochemicals Limited (MRPL) lifted its pet coke prices by INR 330/t m-o-m. Prices for road supply were increased to INR 9,830/t, while rake/barge supply tags were raised to INR 9,530/t, both ex-Mangaluru. MRPL has maintained a price difference of INR 300/t between road and rail supplies to account for logistics costs.
BPCL
Mixed movements were observed in the price adjustments announced by Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited (BPCL). Bina refinery saw a slight drop of INR 12/t m-o-m to INR 12,298/t for rail supply. Road supply remained INR 50/t lower than rail supply, at INR 12,248/t.
Prices prevailing at the Kochi refinery included INR 9,902/t for rail supply, up by INR 456/t from November. There is no road supply at Kochi, and availability is estimated at 50,000 t this month.
Nayara Energy
Nayara Energy increased prices by INR 690/t m-o-m to INR 12,727/t ex-refinery. Notably, Nayara's prices are higher than RIL's by INR 404/t.
