Indian Manganese Ore Imports Down by 3% in Oct'17

India imported around 0.30 MnT of Manganese Ore in Oct'17 against 0.31 MnT in Sep'17.

According to Customs data, Indian Manganese Ore imports have marginally gone down by 3% M-o-M to 0.30 MnT in Oct'17, as compared to 0.31 MnT in Sep'17.

On Y-o-Y basis, India's Manganese Ore imports rose substantially by 50% in Oct'17 against Oct'16. In Oct'16 the same stood at 0.20 MnT.

India relies heavily on Manganese Ore imports, and half of its Manganese Ore requirement is fulfilled through imported Ore. South Africa remained the largest exporter of Manganese Ore to India in Oct'17 at 0.20 MnT, witnessing a fall of 5% M-o-M. Australia and Gabon exported a volume of 0.05 MnT and 0.02 MnT respectively.
