Indian Flat Steel Imports Rise 7% M-o-M in Jul'19

As per the recent data released by customs, Indian flat steel imports increased by 7% to 0.59 MnT in Jul'19 in comparison with 0.55 MnT in Jun'19.
Whereas on yearly premise nation's flat steel imports volume inched up by 2% in Jul'19 in comparison to 0.58 MnT in Jul'18.
In first seven months of (Jan-Jul)CY'19 nation's flat steel import volumes increased by 6% to 3.70 MnT in comparison to 3.49 MnT in same time frame of previous year.
Indian HRC/Plate import volume ascends by 17% M-o-M in Jul'19- Import volumes of HRC/Plate to India upsurged by 17% in Jul'19 to 0.27 MnT which was 0.23 MnT in Jun'19.
Meanwhile Galvanized steel imports moved up by 9% to 0.12 MnT in Jul'19 against 0.11 MnT in preceding month.
Imports of electrical steel witnessed uptrend by 7% in Jul'19 to 0.16 MnT which was 0.15 MnT in Jun'19.
Meanwhile import volumes of CRC stood at 0.04 MnT in Jul'19, slashed by 33% as compared to 0.06 MnT in preceding month.
Imports from South Korea up by 5% in Jul'19- Flat steel import volumes from South Korea stood at 0.23 MnT in Jul'19, inched up by 5% in comparison to 0.22 MnT in previous month.
Import volumes from Japan rise by 8% to 0.14 MnT in Jul'19 from 0.13 MnT in preceding month.
Meanwhile imports from China stood at 0.08 MnT in Jul'19, surged by 33% as compared to 0.06 MnT in Jun'19.
Meanwhile Taiwan, Germany, Ukraine, Indonesia and Russia also exported flat steel products to India in small quantities in Jul'19.
Flat steel imports at Mumbai port surge by 35% in Jul'19- Flat steel imports at Mumbai port stood at 0.23 MnT in Jul'19, spiked by 35% M-o-M basis as compared to 0.17 MnT in the previous month.
However imports at Chennai port tumbled by 18% and stood at 0.09 MnT in Jul'19 in comparison with 0.11 MnT in Jun'19.
Imports at JNPT surged by 25% to 0.05 MnT in Jul'19 which was 0.04 MnT a month ago.
Meanwhile import volumes at Kandla port stood at 0.06 MnT in Jul'19, plunged by 25% as against 0.08 MnT in Jun'19.
