Indian Finish Long Steel Exports Up by 68% in H1 2018

India - world's 2nd largest steel producer has increased its Finish long steel exports in first half (H1) of CY18 against the same period of CY17.
As per the customs, the nation has exported about 488,444 MT Finish Long steel in H1 CY18, up by 67.91% against 290,892 MT in H1 CY17.
The Indian exports have elongated in line with less availability of Chinese cargoes over production curtailment in the country.
Similarly, on monthly comparison the Finish long steel exports was up by around 2% to 53,091 MT in Jun'18 as compared to 52,109 MT in May'18 & On yearly premises it has been elongated by 41.13% against 37,616 MT in Jun'17.
Under Finish Long commodities following HS Codes has been considered - Bar & Rod (HS Code 7213 & 7214), MS Wire (HS Code 7217) along with Angle & Shapes (HS Code 7215 & 7216).
Bar's & Rods have contributed the major export proportionate during H1 CY18 and registered at 377,957 MT (+87%) followed by Structure (Angle and Shapes) 87,020 MT (+32%) and remaining Wire Rod 23,467 MT (+2%). The changes are mentioned are compared to H1 CY17.

Country wise:
During H1 CY18, the largest importer of Indian Finish Long Steel was Nepal - 161,314 MT, Myanmar 79,574 MT and Singapore at 48,836 MT.
