India's induction furnace (IF) steel prices exhibited mixed trends on 15 January 2025. Mills' offers fluctuated by INR 50-200/tonne (t) across markets compared to the previous trading session.
Sponge iron prices fluctuated by INR 50-150/t d-o-d. The steepest hike was observed in the Bellary market, while prices in Durgapur were down by INR 150/t.
Billet offers decreased by INR 100-200/t d-o-d, with the sharpest fall in the Rourkela and Mandi markets by INR 200/t.
Rebar (Fe 500) tags inched up in Raigarh and fall in Durgapur market by INR 100/t, rest most of locations remain steady.
Today, the market was slow, and fewer transactions were witnessed, with primarily need-based buying taking place. Mills preferred to keep their prices steady or offered trade discounts depending upon payment and delivery terms.
