Indian DRI, billet and re-bar update - 9 Sep

India's induction furnace (IF) steel market saw mixed price trends today. Offers by the mills fluctuated in the wide range of INR 100-600/tonne (t) d-o-d on 9 Sep, 2022.

Sponge iron prices dropped by INR 150-450/t across regions, with the maximum fall of INR 450/t seen in the Durgapur market.

Billet prices fluctuated in the range of INR 100-400/t. However, a major hike of INR 400/t was seen n Mandi Gobindgarh's billet market.

Rebar (Fe 500) offers fell in the range of INR 200-600/t across regions, with the major decline of INR 600/t seen in eastern India's Durgapur market.

The finished longs (rebar) steel market saw active demand in the central region, while demand was moderate in the remaining parts of the country.
