Indian DRI, billet and re-bar update - 19'Dec

India's induction furnace (IF) steel prices fluctuated on 19 December, 2024. Offers announced by the mills fluctuated by INR 100-500/tonne (t) d-o-d compared to the previous trading session.

Sponge iron prices fluctuated by INR 100-400/t. The Bellari and Hyderabad markets witnessed a price rise of INR 400/t.

Billet prices rose in the range of INR 100-500/t. The Hyderabad market saw an increase of INR 500/t today.

Rebar (Fe 500) offers varied in the range of INR 100-300/t, with the sharpest decrease seen in the Durgapur market by INR 200/t. Meanwhile, prices increased in the Hyderabad market by INR 300/t.

Overall, the market observed a seesaw price trend in both the semis and finished longs segments. Spot trades were moderate as major buying was not seen throughout the day. Transactions in most regions remained stable, with minimal changes seen in prices.
