The domestic induction furnace (IF) steel market witnessed mixed trend as on 14 Jan'22. Steel prices of the mid-sized mills varied in the range of INR 50-550/tonne (t) d-o-d.
Sponge iron and billet prices fluctuated by INR 50-550/t in many regions across the country. However a major fall of 550/t was noticed in Raigarh's billet market.
Moreover, Re-bar (Fe 500) prices increased by INR 200-400/t in major markets, although a slight drop of INR 100-200 was seen in Raigarh and Rourkela.
The market witnessed optimistic sentiments in the first half, although the festive mood slowed down trades resulting in a decline in offers in the latter half today.
