Indian DRI, billet and re-bar update - 13'April

India's induction furnace (IF) steel market witnessed positive price trends, while offers by the mills rose by INR 500/tonne (t) d-o-d on 13 April, 2023.

Sponge iron prices edged up by INR 100-300/t. Prices rose by INR 300/t in the Jharsugda and Durgapur markets.

Billet prices increased by INR 100-500/t. The market in Rourkela saw an increase of INR 500/t today.

Rebar (Fe 500) offers rose in the range of INR 100-400/t. Prices in Mujaffarnagar and Durgapur rose up INR 400/t d-o-d.

The finished longs (rebar) steel market witnessed improved demand in central and eastern region , while demand was moderate in other parts of the country. Also, trading picked up today, which had remained dull over the last few days, SteelMint notes.
