Odisha yesterday approved of ArcelorMittal-Nippon Steel (AM/NS) INR 150 crore proposal to set up a riverine jetty at Udayabata, Jagatsinghpur. The jetty will be hugely beneficial to the company's proposed steel plant in neighbouring district of Kendrapara and its pellet plant at Paradip where it doubled capacity by commissioning the second 6 mntpa unit recently.
On a recent visit to the state in August, Chairperson Laksmi Mittal had also visited the site along with the officials of Paradip Port Trust which will develop the jetty.
On Saturday Odisha's single window clearance authority also approved the expansion of L N Metallics plant in Jharsuguda. The company will invest INR 205 crore to set up 0.112 mn tpa MS billets, 0.112 mnt pa TMT/structure/MS strip, 0.04 mn t pa, ferro alloys, 0.1 mn t pa sponge iron, 0.6 mn t pa iron ore beneficiation, 0.4 mn t pa pellet, 0.112 mn t pa MS/GI pipe and 23 MW captive power plant according to the official statement.
A cement grinding unit by My Home Industries Pvt Limited at Badchana in Jajpur with an investment of INR 650 crore and expansion of Ramco Cements Limited at Haridaspur in Jajpur at a cost of INR 190 crore also received government nod.
