India: SAIL's Global Tender for Purchase of Scrap

Steel Authority of India Limited (SAIL) is the India's largest steelmaker and produces a variety of steel and iron products, had invited a tender for purchase of Shredded and HMS Scrap for its Salem Steel Plant.

SAIL, SSP issues one fresh global tender for purchase of 5,130 MT HMS Scrap which is due on 19 Mar'18. The company is eyeing for price levels of USD 350-360/MT, CFR basis.

It is also conducting the third and final price discovery of the previous global tender for purchase of 77,000 MT HMS and Shredded scrap in which this time they are intending to purchase about 20,000 MT Shredded scrap. As per sources, Four companies techno commercial bids is already frozen in the first price discovery and these companies are supplying the scrap to the plant, second price bid was not concluded due to the lower participation and the third price discovery is due on 6 April'18.
