India:  SAIL Invites Export Tender for 20,000 MT Blooms

Steel Authority of India - a government of India company has floated export tender for prime mild steel non-alloy concast blooms. The tender quantity is reported to be 20,000 MT. The cargo will be shipped from Haldia port. The tender was put up for Prime Mild Steel Non-Alloy Concast billetloom, size 200*280 mm offered from Durgapur Steel plant.

The material has following specifications - C%: 0.14-0.20, Mn%: 0.40-0.70, S%: 0.05 Max, P%: 0.05 Max, Si%: 0.10-0.30

The said invitation bid service has been activated by SAIL for entry of data at 15:30:00HRS [IST] of 07 Jan'20. The last date for bid submission is 10 Jan'20 by 16:00:00HRS [IST].

Prior to this, the company had floated a billet export tender for size 105*105mm and 16,000 MT from Bhilai Steel Plant which due date was 23 Dec'19. According to sources reported to SteelMint, the company has concluded the tender at around USD 425/MT, FoB. The cargo will be shipped from Vizag port and the shipment is scheduled by 7 Feb'20.

Global billet market has remained calm so far after the long New Year Holidays amid massive flood in Indonesia supported by slow down in China's buying amid decreasing temperature in the country and stable domestic billet prices.

CIS billet export price assessment stands stable this week at USD 410/MT, FoB Black Sea.
